Ian's Chocloate Tart & The Christmas Party!

Last Night's (21st Dec) Christmas Party was, as ever, a great success and on behalf of us all I would like to thank Chris and Maree for all their hard work. Chris has promised to let me have a list of the Wines, their sources and the prices which I will post both here and on the website.

The great hit of the evening on the food side was definately Ian's Chocolate Tart which was absolutely luscious and went down very well with the Madeira (there were those who had second - if not third - helpings of that particular combination!). Ian has promised to post the recipe as a comment on this thread and I will also transfer it to the website.

I thought that this might be an opportunity to share recipes/food ideas that go well with a particular wine and we could set up a section of the website for this, so if you have any good recipes that you would care to share please post them here as comment.

Don't forget if any Society Members would like to be able to post new threads to this blog contact me via the email link and I will set you up with a password and instructions on how to start a new thread.

Last but not least - have a happy and peaceful festive season full of good food, good wine and best of all - good friends.

What's your favourite wine?

Just to get things going how about telling us what your favourite wine is - and why......

For me - and it's a story well known to many of you, it will always be Chateauneuf du Pape.
The reason being that my Dad (a man well known for his good sense)believed that you should learn to appreciate wine as soon as possible. Always being one to practice what he preached, he gave me my first glass at the ripe old age of 2 - I can still remember the wonderful taste and how it lingered. Suffice it to say I fell in love, and have never fallen out of it!

What's your story......
